MISSIONS STORY : UGANDA

A DOCUMENTARY OF THE WORK BEING DONE IN ENTEBBE, UGANDA AND THE STORY OF VRAIG AND LOREN LINQUIST.

Follow the compelling story of the journey of Pastor Craig Linquist, his wife Loren, and the work now being done in Uganda. See how the Lord established a fruitful community church through their faithful serving. As the Lord continued to bless this ministry, multiple aspects of their ministry grew. We can now see, nearly twelve years later, the numerous areas of fruit. There are currently weekly outreaches to the impoverished islands surrounding Lake Victoria; a growing school, consisting of over 300 students; a farm that is growing to help provide for sustainability.  There are multiple village churches that have taken root due to the work of Pastor Craig and Calvary Chapel Entebbe, as well as many classes that teach trade skills to locals. Hear from Julianne Heilman, who leads and serves at Asifiwe Child Care, as well as Pastor Deus Byamukama , who has planted a Calvary Chapel on the island of Nangombe.

Pastor Craig Linquist and his wife Loren

Craig Linquist was raised in the Central Republic of Africa, where his parents were missionaries. He came to the states for college, where he met his wife, Loren. After some time serving as the Missions Pastor at Calvary Chapel San Jose, Craig and his family felt called to move to Africa, where they planted Calvary Chapel Entebbe. Over the past twelve years in Uganda they have raised three boys and successfully reached out to various islands on Lake Victoria through medical ministries and a children’s ministry, as well as seeing Calvary Chapel Entebbe grow as a church. Read more about the Linquists’ story here.

Julianne Heilman

Julianne was a young adult at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia who was called to missions. She is currently serving at Calvary Chapel Entebbe in Uganda, Africa. Julianne is also one of the two directors of Asifiwe Child Ministries.  The goal of Asifiwe Child Ministries is to care for orphaned and abandoned children by placing them in small family units where they can have all the love and care they need from a loving mother in a Ugandan setting. Read more about Julianne and the work she is doing on her blog, Julianne’s Journeys.

Deus Byamukama

Pastor Deus Byamukama is a Ugandan native who began overseeing the farm of Calvary Chapel Entebbe on the island of Nangombe in 2007. During his time farming on the island, his heart grew for the people who lived there. Beginning in 2010 he began sharing the gospel with locals on the island through various evangelistic outreaches. In 2011 Pastor Deus felt called to plant a church on the island of Nangombe, and by 2013 they had their first service. Within two years Calvary Chapel Nangombe grew from a congregation of five members to a congregation of forty members with anywhere from seventy to a hundred kids in their children’s ministry.
