Hi everyone, I wanted to update you all on my trip to Argentina late last month to visit the Calvary Chapel in Mendoza.  Ray Holmes our Spanish Ministries leader, and myself headed to Argentina to spend some time with our friend Pastor Leo, who is pastoring the Calvary Chapel there.  The Calvary in Mendoza is currently the only Calvary Chapel in the entire country.  I believe another one is starting in the city of Puerto La Plata in the new year.  In a country of over 40 million, of which 90% are Catholic, it’s safe to say that this country is in dire need of more Bible teaching churches.  Mendoza and the surrounding area has around 1 million people, and there are very, very few Bible teaching churches for the people to go to and hear the Word.  Calvary Chapel Mendoza has been there for around three years, and is a growing church that is faithfully teaching God’s Word to the surrounding community of Maipu.  Pastor Leo currently teaches five different Bible studies at the church each week including a Youth study, a Calvary distinctives study, Inducive Bible study, and both the Sunday and Wednesday evening Bible studies.  God is faithfully blessing the teaching of His Word, and I was so encouraged to see the health of the church body there in Mendoza.  I feel that Argentina is ripe unto harvest, and visiting the church there has helped me narrow my focus on how to pray for the church in Mendoza, but also as a whole in Argentina. The trip also helped me to see how C.C. Philadelphia can practically help out the church in Mendoza.   I would encourage anyone who is interested in ministering in Argentina to contact me, as there are many, many opportunities for ministry there.  Like in most places some of the greatest needs are to be teaching pastor’s the Word of God, and instructing them on how to feed the flock that the Lord has entrusted to them.  I pray that sometime soon, Mendoza will have their own School of Ministry in order to teach those who have a heart to serve the Lord in their home country of Argentina.  Please keep this precious church in your prayers  – that the Lord would provide for all of their needs, that He would continue to raise up leaders in the church, and that the body there would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Blssings,

Carlos
