“Another crazy thing that happened to me since the Lord called me to attend my public school this year was that the superintendent and the guidance councilor called me in for a meeting for the school store we’re going to be opening. I thought it was just going to be an ordinary meeting, but it turns out I’m a contemporary version of Joseph. They gave me $1000 to spend on the school store and the responsibility of running it during the day. The idea of this is simply crazy since this is my first year at the school. He gave me the spot as secretary to guidance for a period everyday and that has gotten me so much favor with everyone.

Corey, one of my best friends from my school, is now starting to come to church and is excited for next week when she gets to go to Senior High for the first time. She enjoyed a Wednesday night service by Pastor Joe and was simply astonished on how amazing church could actually be if you go to the right one. She’s so close to being saved, I see her slowly changing! From the way she talks, to the way she dresses, she’s slowly changing for the better. God is grabbing the heart of one of my best friends at school because of the way that she saw me living which is just mind blowing in itself.

I also have the opportunity to share my anti-abortion paper at an assembly coming up soon because I worked really hard on the paper and it turned out excellent. So I get to share my anti-abortion paper to kids from my school with the perspective of a biblical mindset. I’m really excited for this and I’m excited just to be able to talk to the kids and read my paper with the ideals that are from the bible. I have the right to read my paper, which is infused with bible verses throughout to these kids who may never hear any other quotes from the bible.

Psalm 62:5-8 says, “My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.” God has brought me to mid December this year and continues to prevail against a high school so dark and wicked I thought I would never see any good out of the time I was there. While I am there, He alone is my protection and my strength because He is the everlasting God who will not grow weak or weary. It’s easy to get caught up in the day to day routine, but being a different person then the other people you see every day is hard. We as Disciples of Christ must be the salt and light of the earth because we may be the only thing close to the bible that our fellow peers or coworkers might ever see. So in your workday, while at school, make an effort to share with as many people you can, because the King is coming to collect His people any day from this earth. So don’t let your timidity get in the way of the gospel, if I have learned anything this year, it’s go hard for the Lord because the people who we are with everyday are watching vigilantly, so let your lives catch fire and burn for the Lord so that all can look and see Christ in you”.
