Hallelujah Jesus!!!

This morning two men from our team and two students went to the home of Noel L. to continue construction of the large shed.  The students worked until VBS and the men until dinner-great progress was made and the outside structure completed.

Wednesday’s VBS was the most highly attended of the week.  The word from for the day from our theme “Life in 6 Words” G.O.S.P.E.L. was “Paying”  The Bible lesson & crafts focused on Christ crucified.  Two more teenage young men that have been hanging around our team Dominic & Mark, prayed to trust Jesus as their Savior & LORD.  This was a precious answer to prayer for our young guys who that morning asked Jesus to save Dominic as He  had done for his friends the night before.  We first met these two young men at the Sports outreach on Saturday and Dominic especially has been coming to the church & VBS since then.

As we were processing the Good works of the LORD back at the church, one of our young ladies Bailey B. told us of a girl from VBS that told her she had gone home on Tuesday and prayed for Jesus to be her Savior.  Hallelujah Jesus!

At the Wed. night study, five of the students presented the mime “King of Hearts” for the congregation and those watching the service on television.  Afterwards Gil explained the message of the mime and then taught from Psalm 73 “I Would have slipped but for the grace & grip of God”

Thursday morning two of the adult men and two students went back to Noel’s to work on the shed’s roof but work was cut short by rain.
Thursday was the final day of VBS and it was a blast.  Many more children were now coming in the building with a smile & doing the hand motions to the songs.  The words for the day were “Everyone” “Life” and the memory verse John 3:16.  Josh M. taught from the Bible and invited children to believe in Jesus and invite Him into their hearts and Savior & LORD, about 20 children responded to this invitation.  Hallelujah Jesus!

We were still unable to have our game activities outside but were able to move crafts upstairs & games into the large room downstairs.  That allowed us to break out the parachute (a huge hit) for a variety of games.  At the conclusion of VBS, the children along with snack, took home their craft bags along with a few Bible based gifts from our team.  Those children nine and over also received a copy of the illustrated booklet “Life in 6 Words” and a Chuck Smith New Testament.

We returned to the church for a pot luck dinner that the church had scheduled.  To our surprise we were the guests of honor at a fellowship feast fit for a king.  We enjoyed moose, goose, rabbit, chicken, and so much more.  The dessert table was SWEEEEEEEEET.  The ladies of the church presented the team with beautiful First Nation Cree handmade items.  We were so honored by the kindness, hospitality & generosity.

After the feast, Pastor Josh had scheduled an ice cream social so the teenagers 13-18 who were too old for VBS could come and spend some time with us.  Five of our students presented the “King of Hearts” mime and Chris L. shared the gospel and gave an invitation to the youth to come to Christ.  None responded but the door was opened for us to be Jesus hands and feet with individual & small group conversations with the youth who came.  Two young ladies gave their hearts to Jesus.  One of them Leah, had been lifted up in our morning prayer gatherings for the past few days.  Hallelujah Jesus, He is working!  Seven teenagers plucked like brands from the burning to be sons & daughters of the glorious King.  Pastor Josh and Kristen were filled with joy and we are humbled by God’s gracious invite to be workers together with Him.

After our guests had left the church we started preparation for the packing our cargo van for it’s barge crossing in the morning.  The team with ride the barge across the Moose River in the afternoon, catch the 5pm Polar Bear Express for Cochrane, and begin our trek home to Calvary Philly’s parking lot on Sunday night.

Our time on Moose Factory Island is coming to a close but all that Jesus wants to do in the lives of the people of Moose Factory Island by His Holy Spirit working through His people has just begun.  Hallelujah Jesus!!!!!
